ENGINE POWER TESTING
To comprehensively analyze aggregated external power profiles, the effect of MULTIMAG magnetic activators on the tested engine’s power was determined, after a number of different engine operation periods and at engine speeds ranging from 1200 to 2700 rpm.
ENGINE TORQUE TESTING
The tested engine’s aggregated torque profiles measured before the installation of MULTIMAG magnetizers and after 120, 300
and 500 hours of the engine’s stabilized operation with the activators installed are presented on charts. Curves representing maximum torque position are clearly separated from those representing maximum torque values.
The maximum torque curve largely affects the engine’s total flexibility, through the engine speed flexibility ratio (engine speed range).
After MULTIMAG activators were removed from the tested engine, a torque drop across the entire engine speed range was observed.
The study showed that the earlier growth of maximum torque by approximately 10% is highly significant for the engine’s performance and constitutes a positive effect of MULTIMAG magnetizers.
FUEL CONSUMPTION TESTING
The next analyzed aggregated profiles were instantaneous fuel consumption values as a function of engine speed. Analyses show that the installation of activators affects the amount of fuel consumed by the engine.
After 120 of engine operation with MULTIMAG activators installed, a reduction of fuel consumption across the entire range of engine speeds was observed.
The greatest reduction coincided with lower engine speeds (1200 to 1800 rpm) and greater engine loads.
In some cases the reduction rate exceeded 16%, as compared to engine operation without MULTIMAGS.
